Project overview

CHIJMES is a restored 19th-century convent turned dining and lifestyle destination. People come for the grounds and the atmosphere as much as for any individual restaurant, which changes what the feed has to do.

Selling a place, not just the businesses in it

Alongside Capitol Singapore, CHIJMES was the second property I covered in the marketing and communications team, with the same responsibility to understand what tenants, event hosts and visitors each needed from it.

03

What went into the feed

Posts covered tenants and their menus, events held on the grounds, and the building itself — the lighting, the courtyard and the occasions that suit it.

As with Capitol, the events I helped coordinate on the ground were the same events the feed documented, so the content was planned as part of the activation rather than added afterwards.

Ways of working

  • Built an understanding of tenant, event host and audience needs to inform the communications approach
  • Coordinated logistics and cross-team execution for casual leasing events across both flagship malls
  • Reported monthly to senior management on PR results, marketing initiatives and event outcomes

Outcomes

The reporting cycle meant each month of activity informed the next, and the period recorded improved social visibility across the properties.
